Unlocking Scholarship Success: Insights from Clara Forbuzo

Open Dreams

In today’s competitive academic landscape, the pursuit of scholarships has become a crucial endeavor for students seeking to further their education and enhance their professional opportunities. Recently, I had the privilege of attending an enlightening session led by Clara Forbuzo, a distinguished finance graduate from Ashesi University, Ghana. Her insights on scholarship applications were very informative and transformative, providing us with essential strategies to enhance our chances of success.

Clara emphasized the importance of several key elements in crafting outstanding applications. Among her valuable tips were the necessity of submitting recommendation letters, adhering to deadlines, and ensuring that essays are meticulously reviewed. Each of these components plays a crucial role in presenting a polished and compelling application.

One of the most impactful segments of her presentation focused on the significance of extracurricular activities. Clara underscored that these activities should align with our field of interest, as they can significantly enhance our CVs. She introduced us to the concept of global internships which are fully funded opportunities that allow students to gain invaluable experience at international conferences and organizations. Clara shared her personal journey, recounting her internship at the Bank of Africa Unted Kingdom in London and her participation in conferences in Rwanda. She encouraged African applicants to explore similar internships within the EMEA region, highlighting the wealth of opportunities available.

Additionally, Clara drew our attention to the often-overlooked section of application forms: "Is there anything you would like us to know about you?" She stressed that this is a vital opportunity to present ourselves authentically and to highlight unique aspects of our experiences and aspirations.

In closing, Clara urged us to remain humble and open-minded, emphasizing the importance of going the extra mile in our pursuits. Her session was a powerful reminder that with the right approach and mindset, we can navigate the competitive landscape of scholarship applications and seize the opportunities that lie ahead.

Clara Forbuzo's session reminds us that securing a scholarship is not merely about meeting eligibility criteria but showcasing our unique stories and potential. Engaging in relevant extracurricular activities can greatly enhance our applications. By approaching the process with diligence and creativity, and staying humble, we can turn challenges into opportunities.

With the right preparation and determination, our dreams are within reach, so embark on this journey with confidence!
