The Cameroon International Tech Summit: Reflecting on an extraordinary 72 hours of creativity and sleepless nights | Precious Ngenwie'23

Why not try? Just try! (Start here by diving in)

Reflecting on an extraordinary 72 hours of creativity and sleepless nights!

When we arrived on Thursday, October 24th, 2024, we had no idea of the amazing journey ahead for these next 72 hours at @Hotel Franco in Yaoundé - Cameroon. Meeting our fantastic team, greetings were exchanged, new connections were built, and a new family was born.

With the 72-hour countdown set, we started hacking, and jumped into the fun of brainstorming, researching, and open conversations, and ideation. Tackling the topic of e-governance was new to us but we embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and worked day and night. After 24 hours of profound work, we presented our initial ideas. Surprisingly they needed improvement. No worries we bounced back with fresh thoughts

As we entered the last 24 hours, stress started to rise. We were still searching for the best solution. Then, Eureka, we finally found our problem and solution and began eagerly prototyping.

D-Day had come, and the 72-hour countdown was up. The Cameroon International Tech Summit, @CITS24 hackathon came to an end. We pitched our project. The winners were to be called.

“And the winners are….” will this suspense come to an end?

Our team wasn't called, but instead of feeling defeated, we were filled with the fruit of 72 hours: profound work, innovative thinking, and teamwork.

A big thank you to the organizers for making this event a reality and, most especially, the food; we needed something to diffuse the stress.

Thank you to Open Dreams, Tic Foundation where my journey began.
