Failure does not exist - My ODSA23 Experience | Kay Kyria

My ODSA23 Experience

During my sessions at ODSA23, I was overwhelmed with gratitude as I witnessed the transformation of pre-scholars who initially had little understanding of emotional intelligence and human temperament. It was truly remarkable to see their deepening comprehension of these topics.

One aspect that struck me was the abundance of knowledge these young minds possessed. I made sure to create an inclusive environment where both extroverted and introverted students felt comfortable expressing themselves. It was important to me that all students had equal opportunities to participate and share their thoughts.

The sessions were incredibly enjoyable and filled with laughter. I savored every minute of the experience.

The main lessons I hoped to impart to the pre-scholars were powerful and timeless. First and foremost, I emphasized the importance of recognizing that no one is an island and that every person they encounter has unique strengths and weaknesses. By striving to see others through the lens of their strengths, they could build more meaningful relationships and collaborations.

Additionally, I emphasized the significance of active listening as opposed to passive listening. I encouraged them to listen with the intention of understanding rather than merely responding. Effective communication skills are vital in all aspects of life, and I wanted to ensure they grasped this concept.

Furthermore, I stressed the importance of ethical collaboration over unhealthy competition. By working together and valuing different perspectives, they would not only increase their productivity but also develop a deeper understanding of social issues.

Lastly, I wanted to instill in them the belief that failure does not exist. Instead, every setback is an opportunity to learn and grow. I encouraged them to reflect on their mistakes and those of others as valuable learning experiences.

The feedback I received from the pre-scholars was incredibly heartwarming, serving as a powerful reminder of why volunteering is essential. It was a truly humbling experience that reinforced my commitment to giving back to the community.

In conclusion, being part of the #BatchofGratitude at ODSA23 and volunteering with the community at IC3 Institute has been a transformative experience for me. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to #Sdg4qualityeducation and make a positive impact on the lives of these pre-scholars.
