It's official - Open Dreams Scholar, Njapa Albright'23 will serve as the Coordinator of the Open Dreams Summer Academy, #ODSA2025 in Bamenda.

At Open Dreams, Albright stands out as one of the most promising young leaders — a true dreamer to watch, as she evolves daily. Her unwavering passion for leadership and community service, even amidst uncommon adversity like the hostile social climate in Bamenda, is truly inspiring. She is a driving force at the Bamenda Open Dreams Center, playing a pivotal role in shaping its dynamic presence within the entire Open Dreams ecosystem and beyond. Her exemplary social media engagement, where she is prolific with rich and educative content inspires many young people to go the extra mile in the pursuit of their purpose in life.

From coordinating flagship initiatives like the Aviva Week to overseeing school visits, representing Open Dreams at seminars, conferences, and leading field projects, to engaging state authorities for crucial administrative support, Albright has proven to be a cornerstone of Open Dreams in its grassroot presence and effectiveness for global explorations.

Albright was part of the Open Dreams Bamenda delegation, which animated the Open Dreams 10th anniversary celebrations in Yaoundé - she featured in one of the panels, sharing firsthand her journey with Open Dreams, where she is not only learning but giving back immensely and being proactive in every respect.

Often described as a fortress — a dependable pillar and, at times, the last “man” standing — her bold and tireless leadership endeavors epitomize the Open Dreams values and spirit. She is, indeed, a quintessential Open Dreams Scholar.

The 2025 cohort, known as the Batch of Fortitude, is set to benefit immensely from Albright’s intellectual prowess, rich experiences, and exceptional savoir-faire.

Working under the supervision of Regional Coordinator Lum Blessing, Albright will head a dedicated administrative team of disruptive thinkers tasked with delivering a transformative summer experience for the 2025 Open Dreams Pre-Scholars.

Albright and her team carry the delicate yet powerful responsibility of nurturing talent and inspiring mentees to push beyond their limits, never settling for anything less than pathways that lead to the pursuit of their full potential for optimal service to the community.

Albright's parents were motivated to name her after the first woman to serve as the United States Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, widely remembered for breaking glass ceilings in foreign policy and for mentoring many young women in international affairs.
